ABCs of FAITH 12
WHAT FAITH IS
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5: 7
SENSE KNOWLEDGE part 2
Here is the thing that makes faith such a challenge; SENSE KNOWLEDGE "faith is not based upon sense knowledge. Sense knowledge is knowledge that is received through the five physical senses; seeing, feeling, tasting, touching and smelling.
Bible Faith really has nothing to do with sense knowledge. I am talking about faith in the promises of God, not just positive thinking or luck. Faith has nothing to do with luck. Faith is based on the eternal truth of God's holy Word. If we can't have faith in that, what can we have faith in?
WHAT FAITH IS
Let's take a closer look at Hebrews 11: 1 from two different translations:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11: 1 (KJV)
1NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11 (Amplified Bible)
Faith perceives as real fact what is not revealed to the senses. Faith is based upon the facts of God's Word, not the facts of the natural world. For example just because there is an economic crisis in the world doesn't mean there is one for the believer. You can by faith, choose not to participate in the crisis because you are in the world but not of the world. You are a child of faith! Faith perceives prosperity as a real fact, no matter what is being revealed to the senses by Wall Street or the economic forecasts of the day. If you got 100 economists and laid them head to feet, they would not even reach a conclusion. We are talking about faith in the Word and promises of God and not the world's economic system which the Bible calls Babylon. It is going to eventually fall anyway.
When we choose not to live by faith we live far below our privileges of success and prosperity. Prosperity and success are your God given rights, but you must claim them by faith. We walk by faith not by sight.
"If you got 100 economists and laid them head to feet, they would not even reach a conclusion."
SHOW ME THE MONEY!
2 Corinthians 5:7 could have read; we walk by faith and not by the senses. Sight is one of the five physical sense, but is used here as a representative of all of the senses. Let me illustrate; If you are believing for money you want to SEE the money (Show me da money J). But if you are believing for healing you expect to FEEL the healing. You want to feel better, so the Word sight in 2 Corinthians 5: 7 could represent feelings. Sight in this verse represents the senses. We could really say we walk by faith and not by sense knowledge. Why? Because sense knowledge is not limited to sight. Faith perceives as real fact what is not revealed to the senses, not just the sense of sight. The late John Osteen use to say that faith is the 6th sense (or a spiritual sense).
The key is to operate above the level of sense knowledge and believe the Word. Faith puts you on a higher plain of life. There is just something royal and regal about a man or woman that truly lives by faith.
CONFESSING THE WORD
The Word is true no matter what you feel or sense. You don't change your confession because you don't see the money. I have confessed abundance when I did not have two quarters to rub together. Most believers today are dominated by sense knowledge so they let sense knowledge rule their confession. When things are going contrary to prosperity is where confession really comes in. No matter how you feel or how it looks, confess the Word. I have gone through some of the greatest tests of faith financially in my life while I just arose above sense knowledge and held fast to my confession. That is why confession is such a powerful and important part of faith. You are speaking what you believe and desire, not what you see. Saying what is makes nothing better. Speaking faith in the face of contradictory sense knowledge evidence is what produces great results. Confessing the Word takes you above the realm of sense knowledge into the realm of revelation knowledge.
Let's look at Hebrews 11: 1 from the amplified Bible again as we conclude;
1NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
Faith perceives as real fact what is not revealed to the senses. Sense knowledge is a major enemy to faith. You must decide; if the Bible is true or is God lying to you. Trust the Word and not your senses.

Author's note:
These lessons are written "daily" like as the fresh manna fell daily in Israel. No left-overs for God's people! Often I am up late or early seeking the mind of God for the fresh Word which I seek to share. What an honor to be able to share with God's people. PLEASE, excuse me if there is an occasional typo. The fresh nature of the newsletter does not allow time for me to have them proof-read. The time is short!
